Tahuamanu’s” productive activities began in the early 1990s, however, in 1989 a group of business people arrived to Cobija, most of them belonging to the coffee sector, who decided to investigate and analyze the possibilities of settling in Cobija and venture into the Brazil-nut business.
Back then, most of the Brazil-nuts gathered in Cobija’s area of influence were exported as raw material to the city of Belém, Brazil.
